At Nantucket Pool & Spa Center, we set the standard for creativity, solid construction, and advanced technology in our swimming pool designs and construction.  Each job is personally supervised through all phases by specialists who have more than 70 years of combined experience. Our unique hands-on approach, combined with custom design and CAD drawings, has proved successful time and time again, and the quality of our pool building is unparalleled on Nantucket and throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.

We offer a variety of custom construction options. Whether it’s adding a salt system, upgrading the control system to your pool or spa, or adding luxurious touches like fountains or geysers, our expertise — along with premium brands like PebbleTec, Classic Pool Tile, and Master Tile — will ensure that your pool is the best around.

Here’s an overview of our construction process:

• We create a layout of the pool on lawn after a design has been approved and permitted.
• Excavation begins: the pool depths and sides are carved into the soil with heavy equipment.
• Much of the PVC plumbing is done for the main drains, skimmers, returns, jets, waterfalls, etc.
• We form the pool shape with steel rebar and shoot gunite to form the pool’s shell.
• A 6” band of waterline tile is hand-laid, and the coping is installed as well.
• The filtration equipment system, consisting of a filter, a pump, and a heater (if desired) is installed.
• The finish — which is either plaster or pebble — is the last component to be installed.
• Lastly, we balance the chemicals. Then it’s time to swim!
